Black Leather & WHITE PIPED SILK with Tweed

Bon matin everyone! It's a lovely Sunday morning!!

Yesterday was the Farmer's Market here in Ann Arbor and there's nothing better than strolling over to a breakfast of fresh bread twists with chunks of olive in it and homemade peach/plum/apricot Jam! 

I opted for a Garlic Cheese Twist this time, actually.

The weather has been haywire recently. Brisk in the morning, then warm as the sun reaches it's peak and chilly again as the clouds start to move in before raining.

Personally, as long as the top half of my body is comfortable temperature-wise, I'm good to go, which is why I usually layer with a breezy shirt and a solid jacket/cardigan. (As a college student, that is definitely the most practical exam-taking dress code because you just never know what temperature of your test-taking room is going to be).

I chose to wear a flexible outfit. The silk top, which has a chic black piping detail down the center, kept me cool during the heat of the day while my pleated, leather skirt kept me warm when the wind kicked in. 

I must say, leather is quite warm and the pleats give direction and neatly polishes the outfit.

I'm very conscious of what shoes to wear when rain is forecasted because it can do major damage to leather and suede shoes.

These jelly flats were a great purchase for days that are half sunshine/half rain. They're like nude flats that match with almost everything and the added black bow+gold charm details made them that much more loveable.

To finish the outfit off, I threw on a simple navy blazer with sharp leather lapels and a beautiful tweed clutch with tassels and tarnished gold detailing.

Black & MUSTARD with GOLD Accessories

Bonjour!! The weather is still quite humid so I chose a silk romper with simple gold accessories and a beautifully structured tote of white butter leather. 

It was chilly in the morning so I threw on a Mustard knit cardigan that was fortunately slightly shorter than the length of my romper (longer cardigans make it look like a sans-bottom day).

This picture was taken at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. These metal sculptures of horses were certainly larger than life and simply majestic. I hope to show more of the best bits and baubles of Ann Arbor in future posts!

FOOD! Yeap, I have decided to add an easy, healthy way to eat chicken! 

Trying to make it somewhat related to my outfit today, I chose a Baked Honey Mustard Chicken recipe!

A lot of people choose to rub their chicken in BBQ sauce or ketchup, which has much more sugar than it's counterpart. 

Glazing chicken with Honey mustard and sticking it in the oven to bake is a great way to add flavor and satisfy without the added slather of sugar or fried crust.

WOODY SILK SHORTS & Cuffed knit sweater

Bonjour everyone! 

Seeing as how this is my first post, I must say that I am quite nervous about starting my own style blog. 

However, after looking through numerous other blogs, it's clear to see that staying true to your own individualized style and having an opportunity like this to contribute my thoughts to the fashion community is all I can ask for so I hope you enjoy how I run with it :)

Today, I paired beautiful olive green silk shorts with a light knit tan sweater. 

Silk shorts are my go-to during the summer, especially on days that are so humid it feels like the air weighs you down. I slipped on cow fur cheetah heels and finished with a sleek metallic clutch that is as smooth as it is shiny.

Usually, I prefer to cinch in the top by slightly tucking my sweater into the pants but from the photo above, it makes the silk shorts appear quite bunchy. I also prefer to enjoy seeing the full sheen of the silk rather than having it covered by the sweater.

Thus, I decided to make a simple knot on one side of the sweater and voila, I was happy to go! An easy, breezy outfit with a touch of cheetah and metallics.
